Household Annoyances

At some point while we were out of town this weekend, someone/something smashed the outer pane of the glass door leading from our family room to the back garden. The inner pane is intact, and nothing else was messed with, suggesting an accident or perhaps vandalism, rather than any attempt at breaking in. There was a fairly definite impact point near the bottom of the pane, but we couldn't identify any obvious projectile that might have caused it. Our best guesses are either a freak accident, or the gardeners came by on Friday afternoon (not their usual time), broke the window, and didn't leave a note or otherwise tell us.

Fortunately, Daniel is taking care of contacting absentee landlords and repair people and all of that stuff, and so this will all be taken care of much more expeditiously than it would be if I were handling it.

On the upside, a door-sized pane of shattered safety glass is rather beautiful to look at. We took some photos - I may see if I can post them.
