Portrait of the writer as a young writer

From a diary entry dated March 30, 1987, on a novel that a friend and I were discussing writing together:

And if she puts any intelligent telepathic dragons in, I will throw up.

I don't think that the book ever got past the planning stages, which is a shame, but unsurprising given the obvious creative differences there.
