jaylake was recently visiting writer at Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park, Florida. Which happens to be where I was educated from 6th through 10th grade, before they packed me off to the wild west with a stern injunction not to become sloppy with my English grammar in that free-thinking and decadent state of California, where they favor teaching children "self-expression" over subject-verb agreement.
As I recall, we never had anything as cool as a visiting writer, but we did get to throw chunks of solid sodium into the canal out back of the science building.
