This morning, I got up, fetched Daniel and myself coffee and sustenance from Starbucks, carted a last few miscellaneous things over to the new house, and left for work, leaving Daniel to supervise the guys with the big truck who will move all the boxes we packed. If all goes well, I will come home to the new house full of boxes. At any rate, I carried over the electric kettle and our collection of tea, so even if everything goes spectacularly wrong, I can still sit down in the wreckage and have a cuppa.
I am currently somewhere beyond exhausted, and feel like I really ought to have an "Out of Order" sign stuck to my forehead, for the benefit of any coworkers who might try to get some sense out of me today. Or anyone else who might try to get some sense out of me today.
P.S. Oh, thank god. I just got a request to reschedule the meeting that I was supposed to be running later this morning. I was wondering how I was going to unsplatify myself sufficiently to run that one well, and it's the kind of meeting that I really don't like to look like an idiot during. (I called the meeting, and will run it, but everyone else in the room will outrank me.)
Now I can pour myself another cup of coffee, and hide in my office writing doc plans all day. I hate writing doc plans, but compared to moving house, they're a delight.
