I'm surprised by the amount of empathy I'm feeling for One Direction fans this week. I'm not a fan of One Direction - I'm not sure if I'd ever heard one of their songs before this week. But I know exactly how it feels to have your favorite band break your heart. On the other hand, I've been through decades of having favorite bands break my heart, and so I know that life goes on. I just want to hug all the fans and tell them it's going to be okay.
