I realized that it's been a while since I posted any updates on the house buying situation. Mostly because we're in that weird sort of limbo between when an offer is accepted and the actual closing. Various inspections have happened and gone well, every few days our mortgage broker asks for yet another weird item of financial paperwork, another pile of disclosure forms arrives to be signed. It all looks on track for us to take possession in late April, but until I actually have the keys in my hands, part of me will still be holding my breath.
Then there's the whole issue of remodelling. On the one hand, we could move into the house more or less as it is, and be pretty happy. On the other hand, there's a fair amount that we'd like to do. Squaring that amount with both our financial budget and our estimates of our tolerance for trying to live in a house that's being worked on...is interesting.
In other news, I've finally bought our plane tickets and hotel reservation for the 4th Street Fantasy Convention in late June. This will be our first time at this particular convention - I think it's going to be good fun.
