It's always flattering when someone emails you a link with a note saying, "Hey, I saw this and thought of you."
It does make one go, "Hmmm..." when said link is to the Scottish Nocturnal Erotica contest. To quote from the guidelines:
You know, I don't think I've ever read gargoyle erotica. That may have possibilities, though you'd think the whole being made of stone thing might be an obstacle. Clearly the key to winning this thing is thinking outside the box - everyone's gonna do sexy brooding Highland werewolves in kilts, so the clever writer will find a way to do hot Glaswegian zombies.
Possibly too far outside the box, that.

Maybe it's the kilts or the accents or even the mythical beauty but whatever it is we love Scottish men. Here's your chance to impress us with your hottest, most scintillating Scottish tale ever! But we have a way to make these heavenly hunks even hotter...How you ask? By making them creatures of the night! Each of the Scottish leads has to be a creature of the night; be it a Vampire, werewolf, gargoyle, go ahead, impress us!

Date: 2007-10-14 10:59 pm (UTC)My favorite was the e-mail I got that just said, "Thought of you," and had a link that turned out to be a story about a man whose pet Gila monsters had eaten his corpse.
Sigh.
