So, [livejournal.com profile] mrissa asked how I was liking using Livejournal versus my old Journalscape journal. So far, I like it quite a bit. I'm planning on sticking with it, and more or less leaving my Journalscape journal on permanent hiatus.

One thing I'm noticing with Livejournal is that it's easier (and feels less silly) to dash off a very short post of a few lines. This has the advantage that I'm less likely to vanish off the face of the Internet when life gets busy. On the other hand, I'm well aware of the danger of this becoming "Wendy's New Improved Journal - Now with 54% more random and inane observations!"

Userpics are fun. And the ability to tag entries is entirely too much fun, as you can probably tell from my tag selections. (On the other hand, it's also useful when I want to see what I've posted on a particular subject.)

I get slightly more comments over here on LJ, which is nice.

I still have to look up the correct syntax every time I refer to another LJ user or do an LJ-cut, but I suppose I'll learn it in time.

I'm looking forward to figuring out how to customize my journal a bit more, which probably involves getting a paid account and all that good stuff.

In short, y'all are stuck with me. Have your friendslist filters ready!
It always amazes me how much using BitTorrent resembles hitting yourself on the head repeatedly with an encyclopedia while trying to negotiate the purchase of a half ton of live eels in Greek. It's like they made it deliberately unpleasant so that people wouldn't do it so much. Which is maybe justifiable. I dunno. It's just breathtaking how much it sucks.

I just spent entirely too much time using Orbitz to book a trip to Florida later this summer. Orbitz gets worse every time I use it - pages take ages to load; flights vanish or change drastically in price between the time the search results are displayed and the instant of selecting a flight. I went through the whole rigamarole once, only to discover that it had reset my search from "2 travelers" to "1 traveler", and it would only let me book one of the ticket I wanted. So I had to do the whole damned thing again. Fortunately, I got my flight at a good price, which is why I still bother to use the damned thing. But sheesh.

Even LiveJournal is being slow and sluggy. I am going to post this and then go somewhere far away from the Internet before I succumb to the urge to blow it up.
