So, I've had dreams where all kinds of weird stuff happens and it never occurs to me that I'm dreaming. And I've had lucid dreams, where I realized during the dream that I was dreaming.
Until last night, I don't think I'd ever had a semi-lucid dream, where I realized that something that happened earlier in the dream was a dream, but didn't recognize at the moment of that realization that I was still dreaming. (I dreamed that I was in a minor car accident. Then later, as I was explaining the accident to someone else, I said, "Hey, nothing about that accident made sense. I totally must have dreamed that." While standing next to my fully intact car. Which kept changing make and model (but not color). You might have thought that would be a tip off that reality did not apply, but nooooo. My brain just kept going, "This doesn't make sense either, but I'm clearly fully awake now.")
