"Master Yi, you haven't told us where the other pieces are?" Dude, that would be too easy. 

 

Clearly, Lan Zhan has "getting clothes back in place" magic, because he got that headband back on in no time flat. 

 

What do you do with a lump of evil metal? You have Zewu Jun play the flute at it. And then Lan Qiren puts it in an attractive gift bag. 

 

Xue Yang is having entirely too much fun. I'm impressed by how cross-cultural "I am a fucking psycho" acting appears to be. And when even Wen Chao, who probably entertains himself by setting butterflies on fire, thinks you are a psycho, you are definitely a psycho. 

 

Well, the lantern with a bunny on it sure got a reaction. That was like a saga in Zhanalytics. 

 

Okay, the way that Jiang Cheng is looking at Wen Qing when she's making her lantern wish...I think he likes her. 

 

Oh, Mr. Jin Fancypants doesn't want to marry Yanli? I know I said this was a meet-cute without the cute, but c'mon. I mean, she's too good for him, but I still want to punch him for being mean to her.  

 

Clan Leader Jin and Clan Leader Jiang agree to call off the marriage. Jiang Cheng seems upset. Dude, Yanli can do so much better. At least, I assume that she can do better. Cloud Recesses doesn't actually appear to be swarming with eligible bachelors. And hang on - we know that Legolas is Yanli's son, and I'd assumed Mr. Jin Fancypants must be his father, both because that smug sense of superiority that they share has got to be genetic and because Mr. Jin Fancypants has so far been Sir Not Appearing in the Later Timeline, so, you know, I'd gleefully assumed he was an ex Mr. Jin Fancypants. 

 

Aw, the little paper man is so cute. 

 

"You can scold me. I might feel better." Aw. I love all the affectionate sibling relationships in this show.  

 

"Several small clans have been slaughtered." Yikes, Xue Yang really is having entirely too much fun. 

 

Oh, the way Wei Wuxian keeps trying to talk to Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng keeps dragging him off. And Jiang Cheng is all, "Why did you only say goodbye to Lan Zhan?" 

 

That feeling when you're talking to a rabbit and it suddenly hits you that bae is going on a quest for the Plot Material without you.

I forgot to mention last time, but the lan headband wrist wrap thing is totally not a Lan marriage tradition. Totally not. Nope. They're not secretly half-married. Like. At all.

So... true story... all the younger actors auditioned with the Xue Yang part and then got cast as other roles, so the actor who actually got cast as Xue Yang had like tons of cred in the cast because he was the one who got the role everyone auditioned with. It's just... so cute :D

But yeah, he does psycho so good.
