I know too much...

I know so much, I can't get any work done because everybody needs me to teach them what I know.

I'm actually trying really hard to deploy a bit of strategic stupidity, but it doesn't come naturally.

This will pass - we're just implementing some new tools and procedures, and I've managed to be one of the first with hand-on experience with them, and so we need to do a brain drain to get everyone else up to speed. But I'm wondering if maybe when the next shiny new thing comes along, if I can persuade myself to let someone else be the guinea pig.

The trick in this case is to teach the first person who asks...and then tell the 2nd person who asks that they should have the 1st person teach them how to do it. =) (Learn, Do, Teach)

Actually, we've got a conference room booked next week, and I'm teaching an hour long class to everyone who needs to know this stuff. Should be an efficient means of knowledge transfer. But it means I spent a good chunk of yesterday and today preparing a PowerPoint presentation instead of working on my doc plan that is overdue.
