This is how you can be successfully funny in a BF audio. The difference between what I'd call successful and unsuccessful Doctor Who humour was striking especially in the 100th monthly release, innovatively called 100. In my humble opinion My Own Private Wolfgang worked, where 100 BC did not, though the difference was not as drastic as between Bedtime Story (pretty good) and The 100 Days of the Doctor (I really like Paul Cornell, but I did not like this). Now, the previous release, the Condemned and this, they were vastly different, but they were both good. Why can't BF do that every month?
BTW, Danny Web is very cool in this one. They are doing a lot of this doubling up of late, but this is the first time it has been done with main characters. Amusingly this story as a result of its small cast really felt very low budget DW, where the population of an entire planet had to be represented by a cast of two, only in this case, the populations of two moons were represented by a cast of one.

You know, I hadn't realized until you posted that Danny Webb had played Ori and Irit. That's some vocal versatility on display there.

Strangely, I've been seeing a lot of folks over on The Doctor Who Forums complaining that "The Dark Husband" wasn't funny enough, or that the humor was too juvenile. The latter might be a fair criticism of a play that opens with a Snot Monster, but the former puzzles me.
