The New York Times reported this morning that a majority of Americans don't have a problem with how Obama has handled his relationship with Rev. Wright.

Which seems to indicate to them that they must continue to report on it until they've convinced them that they ought to have a problem.

I'm rapidly losing my ability to read or listen to political coverage without eyerolling.

I *hope* that's not the impression the NYT is trying to give, I must say.

But yes, I lost my ability to receive political coverage that takes itself at all seriously without eyerolling at an early age (but then, I was a child of the Thatcher et al. administration).

Actually, I'm quite sure that the NYT is trying to give no such impression. I do get a feeling from quite a bit of recent political coverage, particularly by pundit types, that there's a certain underlying frustration that the voters *aren't* getting into a tizzy about some minor issue. Because if we could just muster up one really good scandal, we could probably settle the Democratic nomination, and get on with the next bit.
