There may be actors who can deliver that line with total conviction. John Barrowman gave it a good go, but I think it didn't quite work.

Barrowman's one heck of a performer, but not so great a voice actor, I think. Mind you (not having streamed it at the time or yet downloaded it), I don't know whether his fellow-Torchwoodites were any better...

Gareth David-LLoyd gets all the laugh lines, and they did make me laugh. So he gets credit for that. I thought Eve Myles and Freema Agyeman also did well.

Barrowman really wasn't helped by having to play Captain Exposition in several scenes.
