So, my landlord is moving back to the Bay Area. And she needs a place to live. And she's decided she wants to live in the house that Daniel and I are currently renting from her. This is understandable. It's a nice house.

So, we need to move out by mid-January, which is sort of a bummer, as we were planning on seriously thinking about buying something about a year from now, so it would have been nice to be able to stay in our current place until then. Still, there's no way we'll buy something by mid-January, so we're looking for another rental. We've already got an appointment to see a place tomorrow.

Still, it's better than the time our last landlord put the townhouse we were renting on the market...and I didn't find out until someone knocked on the door on a Saturday morning asking to see the place. Good times, that was.

This happened to us in the first home we lived in in the Bay area. We were in Santa Clara, 2000-2001. We'd been living there a year, and our lease expired in October. November 1 we got notice that we needed to be out before Christmas.

Let us know if we can help, OK?

Thanks. I think it's going to work out pretty well - we talked to our landlord, and she's actually able to give us a bit more time than we originally thought. And there's no shortage of rental listings in our area at the moment.

That's good, but I meant help of the box-packing, barge-toting, bale-lifting variety.
