When I was a graduate student at UC Berkeley, "BXXR" was the term used by the chemistry department to advertise its weekly beer hour for grad students. I believe campus rules forbade advertising the presence of alcohol to undergraduates. This gave us a new slang term for beer (pronounced "bickser"), but fooled no one, except, ironically, some of the foreign graduate students, especially ones whose native languages didn't use alphabets, providing them with no experience of similar lexical shenanigans.
