First thought on seeing "Planet of the Dead"

Christina de Souza should totally team up with Jenny ("The Doctor's Daughter"), and they could fly 'round the universe in a London bus and commitfight crime.

...With Malcolm Taylor as their scientific adviser. Yeah.

Hmmm. That is a much cheerier response than I had to that episode. Mine was pretty much "I am so looking forward to scripts where not the slightest portion was written by Russell T Davies."

Well, I do think that "Planet of the Dead" really illustrates the extent to which Davies's Doctor Who has developed a schtick. It's a schtick that I'm susceptible, and capable of enjoying, especially on a first viewing and before the critical faculties have really kicked in. But, yes, I'm looking forward to a Doctor Who script that surprises me, and which succeeds by appealing to things other than my sentimentality and my taste for spectacle.

Even Davies is still capable of writing such scripts - "Midnight" pretty much fit the bill for me.

True..."Midnight" was awesome.

Nobody's written this yet?

Maybe somebody has - now that I've seen Planet of the Dead and need fear no spoilers, I should go looking.
