Two weeks ago, when I filled up my car, gas was about $4.00/gallon.
One week ago, when I filled up my car, gas was about $4.25/gallon.
This morning, when I filled up my car, gas was $4.46/gallon.

I wonder if we'll top $5/gallon this summer.

I can afford to be amused by this sort of thing (and indeed, there's a part of me that hopes that higher gas prices will spur investment in energy conservation and public transit), but people with longer commutes and/or lower incomes must be feeling some hurt.

[livejournal.com profile] suzimoses was talking to some economists at a conferenceish sort of thing a month or two ago, and they were pretty sure it would be over $5/gallon by the end of the summer, yeah.

I don't remember if I bought gas for my SUV yet this year or not. I think I got a tankful in February or so.... I hope I won't need to for a while!
