Two weeks ago, when I filled up my car, gas was about $4.00/gallon.
One week ago, when I filled up my car, gas was about $4.25/gallon.
This morning, when I filled up my car, gas was $4.46/gallon.
I wonder if we'll top $5/gallon this summer.
I can afford to be amused by this sort of thing (and indeed, there's a part of me that hopes that higher gas prices will spur investment in energy conservation and public transit), but people with longer commutes and/or lower incomes must be feeling some hurt.

Date: 2008-06-06 05:05 pm (UTC)Apparently in India it's even worse, since there are a lot of poor people who rely on government-subsidised fuel for their vehicles. Now the cost of fuel is so high the government has had to cut its subsidy. Everyone's unhappy.
